Everything you (n)ever wanted to know
and then some.
I am creative, agile and passionate about the web. I find inspiration in the outdoors, online, and in the work of others. I was a professional DJ in clubs throughout Florida and the South East US for 10 years. I am a hobbyist music producer and my musical tastes run from Dave Matthews, to Timbaland, to Skynyrd.
My interest in web development started around 1997. I was working for a major insurance company during the day and 'designing websites' at night on a free hosting site, angelfire.com. When I wasn't working I soaked up everything about the internet I could. After teaching myself HTML and Javascript the powers at be were confident enough in my skills to let me start working on the company intranet. Fast forward about a couple of years to 1999 and I started my first true position as a 'web guy'.
During my five year run at this new position I wore many hats: Help Desk, Network Administrator, Web/Print Designer, Database Administrator, the list goes on. It was here that I developed and honed the majority of my knowledge and skill set.
After 5 years, I left that position and took another design job but the west was calling me. With no job and only a couch to crash on, I moved to Utah in October of 2004. It was absolutely the best thing I ever did. I worked for an SEO company in Park City for about a year and snow boarded 84 days that season. After one summer out here I was hooked. After the SEO Company, I worked on a big consulting project for the state capital where I was project manager, designer, and developer. I bought a house in 2006 and moved to Salt Lake City. The mountains were only 30 minutes away.
